Location of the Congress Centre
The ExCeL Exhibition and Congress Centre is located close to London City Airport. It is served by its own station ‘Customs House at ExCeL’ on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), from where there is a covered walkway directly into the main western entrance of the Congress Centre.
There is easy access to ExCeL from The City, the Embankment and the West End of London through the Limehouse Link. If approaching from north-east London it is just 15 minutes from Junction 27 on the M25.
Those driving from continental Europe can use the Channel Tunnel or ferries to Folkstone or Dover. ExCeL is reached from the M25 orbital motorway around London by exiting at junction 30. There are 5,000 car park spaces, current charges being £7 for half day and £12 for event day. Drive to and park at ExCeL’s four car parks from where there is a high frequency shuttle service to ExCeL itself.
For those coming from continental Europe, London can be reached by the fast Eurostar rail service from Brussels or Paris. Arrival in London is at Waterloo Station from where it is a 15-minute journey to the Congress area (on the Jubilee Underground Line changing to the Docklands Light Railway at Canning Town).

From London airports by public transport
London City Airport
London City Airport is close to ExCeL and a few minutes by taxi. Cost for a taxi to one of the conference hotels will vary with location but will be approximately between £6 and £15.
Other London Airports
With the exception of London City Airport, London’s main airports are all situated some distance from the centre of town. If you fly into London and wish to use public transport to reach your hotel or the Congress Centre, these are the quickest options.
London Heathrow Airport
The airport is 15 minutes on the Heathrow Express to central London (Paddington Railway Station) and then about 40 minutes by the Underground and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) from Paddington to ExCeL or to your hotel, with at least one change of train.
It is also possible to take the Underground from any of the terminals into central London – journey time about 45 minutes. An airport coach to central London would take about one hour or more. On arriving in central London changes of train (Underground and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) will be necessary to reach your hotel.
London Gatwick Airport
Gatwick Airport is 30 minutes on the Gatwick Express to central London (Victoria Railway Station) and then 35 minutes by Underground and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) from Victoria to ExCeL or your hotel, with at least one change of train.
London Stansted Airport
London Stansted Airport is 41 minutes by train from Stansted Airport to central London (Liverpool Street Station) and then about 25 minutes by Underground and/or Docklands Light Railway from Liverpool Street to ExCeL or your hotel, with at least one change of train.
All of the above times will vary depending on the hotel in which you stay and will all cost in the region of £15 - £20 per person.
Travel from London airports by taxi
With the exception of London City Airport, to travel the distances involved from airports by taxi is very expensive. London black cabs are metered with charges being based on time as well as mileage. The journey time by road from Heathrow, for instance, will take somewhere between one and two hours depending on the time of day and volume of traffic. The average cost would be in the region of £90 - £100 per journey. Travelling by taxi from Gatwick or Stansted is not advisable.
