Submission of Proposals for Posters
The deadline for submissions was 1 December 2000 and the call is now closed.
Posters will be fully refereed contributions that will typically describe existing computer programs, report on preliminary research, survey a subject area, or otherwise contribute to health and medical informatics. Authors may submit electronic posters. These will use a computer (provided by the author) to present live examples of current work. Each poster will be displayed for one day on either 3, 4 or 5 September.
Posters should be consistent with the Congress Topics.
Authors of accepted posters will be entitled to a one page entry in the Congress Proceedings published on the Congress CD-ROM and book. However it will not be indexed in Medline.
Authors’ Instructions
A submission proposing a poster will comprise the one page entry intended for the Proceedings the format of which must comply with the Authors’ Instructions. To view or download the Authors’ Instructions and the Template which can be used for submissions click here.
The author kit, with the template, provides all the information you require to comply with the medinfo2001 submission standards.
Authors
To ensure that the greatest opportunity for participation in medinfo2001 is made available to presenters and institutions, authors may appear in multiple submissions but may have only one submission considered where they are the primary or first author.
The first named person is assumed to be the presenting author. Where more than four authors are listed, only the first four will be cross-referenced in the Congress Final Programme and the Proceedings
If more than one submission is received with the same named first author, the Scientific Programme Committee will accept the first and not process any subsequent ones.
Editorial Support and Guidance
In developing countries first-time authors, or those having concerns about their proficiency in the English language, may seek editorial advice and guidance from their local member of the International Medical Informatics Association or a member of the Scientific Programme Committee.
Evaluation of Posters
All posters will be reviewed by three (3) independent reviewers. Evaluation will stress the originality of the submission, the contribution to the health informatics field, the clarity of exposition and the adequacy of references to relevant international work.
