Nikki Ellis

Nikki Ellis is a member of the Local Organising Committee and together with Andrew Balas is responsible for Tutorials and Master Classes.

 

Nikki is a Research Fellow in the School of Primary Care at the University of Manchester. She has recently been awarded a NHS Executive Research & Development Post-doctoral Training Fellowship. As such, she is now working on a project concerned with the use of information in primary care in support of clinical governance. As a result of this she is seconded part-time to Oldham East Primary Care Group. Prior to this Fellowship, Nikki co-ordinated and undertook a multi-disciplinary evaluation of telemedicine projects being undertaken in the North West region of the NHS in England.

Nikki's primary research interest is in human and organisational issues associated with Health Informatics. Specifically, her work concentrates on the evaluation, audit and training aspects of health informatics applications. In 1999 she undertook a short sabbatical with the General Practice Computing Group and the Department of General Practice, University of Sydney, Australia.
